      Description hide

“Cameristico” is a collection of new compositions and earlier classics from Riccardo Tesi’s repertoire, reinterpreted by Daniele Biagini on the piano, Damiano Puliti on the cello and Michele Marini on the clarinet. Guest musicians are Alfio Antico on the tambourine, Elias Nardi on the oud, Ettore Bonafè and Gigi Biolcati on percussion, Puccio Castrogiovanni on the harp, joined by the voice of Luisa Cottifogli. Riccardo Tesi is an internationally acclaimed accordion player and composer, whose work celebrates a wide range of styles. His thirty year career, as part of the group Banditaliana and in collaboration with many other artists, is characterized by the extrovert’s love of popular music and jazz. Tesi’s musical poetry, however, remains intimate and reflexive, expressed through the reeds of his instrument: a quality that is emphasised in the elegant melodies and in the sounds of the chamber music instruments , the piano, the cello and the clarinet. “Cameristico” paints with a palette of twilight colours with serious hues. Tesi revisits important moments from his past and interweaves them with new compositions written especially for this project. His three fellow travellers are perfectly suited to the all embracing style of Riccardo Tesi’s compositions. The pianist, Daniele Biagini, who worked with Tesi on the ‘classical’ “Un ballo liscio”, has experience in many musical styles, particularly jazz. Damiano Puliti (cello) has also worked with Tesi before and is well known as part of the Harmonia Ensemble and Archaea groups, balanced between contemporary music and pop. Michele Marini (clarinet) despite his youth, has already played with the Vienna Art Orchestra, and can pass with ease from a homage to Gorni Kramer to a classical clarinet quartet.
