Berlin-based harmonica virtuoso Marcos Coll, originally from Galicia, presents his new album, *Ronsel*. Following on from his previous album, *Nómade*, Coll continues his musical journey, once again blending traditional sounds from the Iberian Peninsula with modern arrangements and his unmistakable harmonica playing. The title ‘Ronsel’ – Galician for the wake left by a ship as it glides through the water – symbolises memories, heritage and the path that every person traces in life.
With this album, Marcos Coll aims to document a long journey, making his influences and connections visible and tangible. The harmonica is much more than just a blues instrument in his hands; it takes on the role of a singing voice, sometimes powerful and raw, sometimes delicate and melancholic.
Marcos Coll has been one of Europe’s leading harmonica players for over three decades. He has performed on stages all over the world alongside renowned artists such as Buddy Guy, John Mayall, Charlie Musselwhite and Mick Taylor. He first made a name for himself as the co-founder of the award-winning blues band Los Reyes del KO, before establishing himself increasingly as a solo artist and broadening his musical horizons far beyond the blues.
