A musical journey through the hills, voices, and sounds of Abruzzo, transforming them into new forms of jazz expression. In this project, Lorenzo Tucci, one of the most iconic drummers in Italian jazz—Abruzzese by birth, culture, and identity, and Roman by adoption—leads his jazz trio with Claudio Filippini and Jacopo Ferrazza in a rediscovery of Abruzzo's folk melodies, reinterpreting them with the sensitivity, improvisation, and freedom typical of contemporary jazz.
Traditional songs, work songs, lullabies, and folk dances such as Vola, vola, vola, Tutte le funtanelle, the splendid Paese me, and Mare Nostre intertwine into new soundscapes where rhythm, melody, and improvisation blend in a continuous dialogue between past and present. The result is an intense and vibrant album that celebrates roots without nostalgia, transforming them into a universal voice through the language of jazz.
