Since their formation in 2018, the South West Oldtime All Stars (SWOAS) have established themselves as a fixture on the European traditional jazz scene, having played well over 200 concerts. The musicians originally come from the south-west of Germany (‘The Land’), are all trained jazz musicians and love all variations of ‘classic jazz’. In their first three CD recordings, the band focuses exclusively on the repertoire of Louis Armstrong's most important musical projects, the ‘Hot5’ and “Hot7” from the period 1925 to 1928 – pure studio productions with which ‘Satchmo’ never went on tour. With their new album, SWOAS celebrates 100 years of Louis Armstrong's ‘Hot5’ and plays numerous concerts in the ‘Original Hot5’ line-up!
