An album that brings together original music composed collectively in 2024. Both musicians set out to create a repertoire in a format we might call an “expanded duo” — meaning they gave themselves the freedom to add instruments performed by themselves to orchestrate the original duo compositions, without involving any other musicians in the process.

Gillespi, in addition to playing trumpet, also handled guitars, bass, percussion, and various other instruments. Álvaro Torres, alongside the piano, programmed drums and percussion, and completed the orchestrations with synthesizers and sampled string ensembles. The idea behind FORMA is that it can be performed in any configuration — from the original duo of Gillespi and Torres to expanded versions with guest musicians covering the parts recorded on the album.
