      Description hide

Bandonegro is a Polish tango quartet with an international reach, known for their innovative style that fuses Argentine tango, nuevo tango, jazz, and original compositions. With a career that includes performances in over 30 countries and at prestigious music festivals, the band has stood out for revitalizing the genre with a fresh, energetic sound that’s perfect for dancing.

In 2019, they toured Buenos Aires with great success, performing in iconic clubs, and their version of "Gallo Ciego" was featured in the final of the Tango World Cup. They have released five albums, including Hola Astor, acclaimed for its bold mix of tango, jazz, and rock. Their upcoming album, recorded in Buenos Aires and featuring artists like Daniel “Pipi” Piazzolla, will blend nuevo tango, jazz, and minimal music. The group is composed of Michał Główka (bandoneon/accordion), Jakub Czechowicz (violin), Marek Dolecki (piano), and Marcin Antkowiak (double bass).

"Tanuevo" was born after an inspiring tour in Buenos Aires, where Bandonegro immersed themselves in the essence of tango and gathered material for this project. Driven by their deep admiration for Astor Piazzolla, the band set out to fuse the spirit of Nuevo Tango with elements of jazz and minimal music.

Recorded at the iconic Fortmusic Studio in Buenos Aires, the album features ten original compositions that reflect a forward-thinking vision of tango. Collaborating with renowned Argentine musicians, including Pipi Piazzolla, the project blends the classic tradition of tango with fresh new influences. More than just an album, "Tanuevo" is a statement of passion and authenticity — a musical manifesto that doesn’t just play tango, but lives it. It pushes the genre into new horizons, continuing Piazzolla’s legacy with a bold, contemporary voice.
