A musical journey between Europe and South America, which visits the popular instrumental repertoire of Brazil, Italy, Venezuela and France.
Filippo Gambetta (Brazilian accordion and mandolin) and Alessandro Scotto d'Aniello (Brazilian 7-string guitar) take the audience on a journey that turn-of-the-century Caribbean and brings the ‘choro’ to Europe – an instrumental music with diverse influences at the interface between Central European musical romanticism and Afro-rhythms. The rhythms of the ‘valse musette’ and the slow mazurka alternate in the musical roundelay with Venezuelan instrumental music and original compositions, without neglecting Italy between a tarantella and a new interpretation of the liscio. The two Genoese musicians Filippo and Alessandro have been active as a duo since 2020 and have given numerous concerts. On the album Choropo (2024), the duo will be accompanied by international guest musicians.
