Charlie Risso, Italian singer-songwriter, moved to London at the age of twenty. Fluently bilingual, she
returned to Genova and recorded two albums and an EP for the indie independent label Incadenza.
In 2023, producers Hugo Race and Nicola BaronC invited Charlie to record on their houseboat studio in
Tuscany. From this collaboraCon Alive was born!
The 10 ballads on “Alive” reach you, clear and simple, as soon as Charlie’s voice starts the Ctle track. It’s an
electric, direct sound. Folk-soul-blues ballads, torch songs from faraway places (mostly American and mostly
directed by David Lynch), Nancy & Lee duets (with Hugo Race in The Wolf), the sound of the sea and
the woods turned into song (The Bench, Keep The Distance), pop bubbles with a dark edge (Railroad),
lullabies that morph into torch songs (Bring Me To Life), ghosts (Time), Twin Peaks atmospheres (By the Lake).
"Alive is an exhilaraCng album exploring beauty, suffering, struggle, distance, desire, and longing. A personal
challenge, pushing boundaries through collaboraCons with talented musicians. MeCculous pre-producCon
and a new arCsCc producer enriched the creaCve process, resulCng in a unique journey within the heart
and soul.”
