The influence of soul; jazz and funk over Catalan rumba and flamenco pop that I called “gypsy soul”. That first albums urprised a generation of public that discovered links that linked Peret with Isaac Hayes (”Chavi” 1972) and Chacho with the northerns oul (“Bum Bum” 1969) and served to revive an old copla modernized by Encarnita Polo in a ye-ye funk key (“Paco; Paco” 1969).
