Tradition is a living process, in transformation, that renews and regenerates itself thanks to the incessant work of its bearers. This is the meaning of the meeting between Francesco Loccisano and Andrea Piccioni: the exploration of ways and sounds symbolizing the millenary Italian tradition, beyond the classification of "popular", in which tradition is used as a starting platform for a dialogue and a sound research through which deconstruct and reconstruct not through a simplistic contamination but on the contrary digging towards the essence and the center of the sound. An intense, vibrant and never predictable journey. Two great interpreters, creators of a synthesis between tradition and innovation, never simplistic and always aware.

Francesco Loccisano, already a long-time collaborator of Eugenio Bennato, Mimmo Cavallaro, Vinicio Capossela, Gianna Nannini, he was the first Italian musician to bring the chitarra battente to the Sanremo Festival. Loccisano's innate talent and his great passion for the "chitarra battente", capable of producing sounds of unquestionable charm, over time led him to structure his own personal style of interpretation and performance that is much appreciated by an increasingly wide audience. Francesco in fact manages to bring out from his instrument a hitherto unexpressed potential. The clapper becomes not only an instrument supporting the song, but also a solo instrument able to assert its own unique typicality. Francesco is currently teaching the course "Chitarra Battente" in the department of Traditional Music at the Conservatory P. I. Tchaikovski of Catanzaro.

Andrea Piccioni, Considered as one of the world's leading exponents of the frame drum, creator of a profound technical and stylistic renewal of the Italian drum, he has crossed with his style the boundaries of jazz, early music and world music, collaborating with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Paul McCandless, Dónal Lunny, Gianluigi Trovesi, Luciano Biondini, Basel Rajoub, Caitríona O'Leary, Les Haulz Et Les Bas, Riccardo Tesi, Manfred Leuchter, Lucilla Galeazzi, Wu Man, Zarbang ensemble. Since 2014 he has been collaborating assiduously with the Aga Khan Music Program, which awarded him the title of "Master Musician", within educational and musical projects alongside great international artists. He is also an appreciated teacher in the most important festivals, universities and conservatories around the world. Andrea is currently teaching the course of "Tamburi a Cornice" within the department of Traditional
