Born Concepción Velasco Varona in 1939, Concha Velasco is one of the great names of the Spanish stage and cinema. Dancer, singer, actress and television presenter, she made her debut as a classical dancer in the dance team of the Ópera de La Coruña, and also as a flamenco dancer in the Manolo Caracol Company. Her acting career spans from her film debut in 1954 to a couple of years ago when she retired, but for more than fifty years Velasco has been a regular in theaters and cinemas throughout Spain. In her youth she was known as Conchita Velasco, and parallel to her acting career she recorded a handful of 45's aimed at adolescent audiences on the Belter label. His best sides are collected here, including his greatest success Chica ye-yé –produced by the great Augusto Algueró– and Calor, which was recently rescued in the soundtrack of the HBO series Killing Eve.
