      Description hide

This is the 3rd record of this amazing string trio made of Portuguese guitar (Fado symbol), classical guitar and contrabass.

Following "Matéria" (that won the Carlos Paredes 2015 National Award) and "Lisboa" (that was nominated in the best record category by the Portuguese Authors Society Awards in 2017) work that includes in their repertoire Lisbon’s traditional instrumental music with the trio’s innovative musical arrangements, comes now "Aqui e Ali".

This work is the continuing growth of a unique and own personal language, where the trio, along with their original themes, visit their musical references, such as Portuguese musicians Bernardo Sassetti, Pedro Caldeira Cabral and José Mário Branco.

In this new work, for the first time, LST Lisboa String Trio are recording with voices, in this case, with Basque singer Maria Berasarte (Spain) who presents a magnificent performance of a Federico Garcia Lorca song, and Portuguese singer Cristina Branco, who sings a beautiful song, alluring to fado.

“Aqui e Ali” reinforces the delicate point of balance between the several universes of its components, in a surprising language and a strong and original identity. In it we can find references to European Jazz, World Music, Fado and Classical Music
