CARA celebrate their 15th anniversary on the international folk scene with their seventh release: a new live
album, recorded during their 2017 tour. The album features favourites from the band’s live set: innovative
arrangements of material frmly rooted in the Irish and Scottish traditions, critically acclaimed original songs and
tunes, and several brand new tracks.
Uplifting, energising and expressive, with lead vocalists Gudrun Walther (Germany) and Kim Edgar (Scotland)
alongside piano, fddle, fute, guitar, dobro, bodhrán, uilleann pipes and accordion, CARA have been described
as “a whole festival wrapped up in one band” (Bruce MacGregor, BBC Radio Scotland).
Winners of the Irish Music Awards for "Best New Irish Artist” (2010) and "Top Group” (2011), CARA have
toured the USA seven times, headlining at some of the country’s biggest festivals, including Milwaukee Irish
Fest, Kansas City Irish Fest, ICONS, and Dublin Irish Fest.
CARA perform regularly in Ireland and Scotland; recent visits have included the 30th Cork Folk Festival, and
launching their studio album, “Yet We Sing” at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections (2016) followed by a Scottish tour
taking in Edinburgh’s Queens Hall and Eden Court, Inverness. In 2017, they completed their frst English tour
and headlined Main Stage 2 at Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
The group’s distinctive approach and creativity in recording and live performance have enjoyed international
critical acclaim, and for their anniversary year, CARA look forward to touring Australia for the frst time, with a 4
