For some time now, Jorge Pardo has accustomed his followers to expect from him the unexpected.
Paco de Lucia & Camarón to start with, then the 90’s on the Nuevos Medios’s phase, “Vientos Flamencos” came in 2009 and
finally the monumental epic álbum that is "Huellas” (Footprints) in 2013.
Always at the honest search for himself and his own musical reflections.
Now, after the release of his "Stories of Radha and Krishna" in 2014, Jorge Pardo presents DJINN METAFLAMENCO. A project that addresses the Groove, the origins of Flamenco and electronics. In the compositions of Metaflamenco, time and space intersect, giving rise to a music that plays with these same parametres.
The musician own experience with flamenco along with his embrace with Jazz and the creative and interpretive inception of freedom that it represents, gives us a ripe fruit rich in nuances, succulent in its foundation and sublime in content .
DJINN goes beyond the known flamenco sound. Sharing the same band and sound as from “STORIES OF RADHA & KRISHNA”, DJINN delves into the essence of flamenco through the greatest art of “el cante” to take it beyond the confines of their known boundaries. It becomes “METAFLAMENCO”.
Hammond organs, keyboards with acid sounds, forceful drums, electric bass and flamenco guitars join the contribution of DJs and electronic music producers, working with samples of old “flamenco cantes” and hip hop poetry.
With expertise in the composition and distinctive interpretation of flute and sax; Jorge, as feverish alchemist, leads us with his music to an endless journey into the unknown.
New elements managed with the solvency that gives having a sole sincere commitment: creation.
Colors and shapes for a free music canvas, as always marbled by the freedom of jazz and dyed by the feeling of flamenco that transforms into contemporary urban music, hosting the most intimate pulse of Pardo’s daily life.
