This year – as every year, OehmsClassics will also be releasing the current production of the Mörbisch Lake Festival on CD. In 2005, the world’s largest operetta festival will be presenting Franz Lehár’s Merry Widow on a 3600 sqm stage. Simultaneously, this is a major anniversary year: Lehár wrote his masterpiece exactly 100 years ago. Melodies like “You’ll find me at Maxim’s”, the Vilya love song or “When lips turn silent…” have become hits throughout the world – and are likely to remain so the next 100 years as well.
