Wulfin Lieske, guitar
Dhe “definitive” modification of the guitar can be dated
to the final decades of the 18th century, between about
1770 and 1800. At exactly this time, those composers
were born who were to give the guitar the enormous
prestige that it was to ultimately enjoy in the 19th
century: Fernando Sor in February 1778, Dionisio
Aguado in April 1784, Mauro Giuliani in 1781 and
others. We are at the threshold of the heyday of the
guitar, shortly prior to the “perfection” of the instrument
(Peter Päffgen).
Wulfin Lieske was also aware of the importance
of this when he recorded the present CD in October
2011 at the WDR in Cologne. An enrichment for all
friends of the classical, „perfected“ guitar!
