The new transverse flute experienced an impressive social
advancement during Bach’s lifetime, confidently
taking its place alongside the more intellectual clavier
as an expressive medium of sophisticated entertainment,
but also with a somewhat philosophical aura
derived from direct breathing into the instrument, as
well as the instantaneous feeling expressed through it.
With Verena Fischer and Léon Berben, OehmsClassics
proudly presents two of the most outstanding artists
in their field.
