Sawaya Quartet and Chorus

Discography
George Sawaya brings together his family members to form the Sawaya Chorus and perform traditional Arab music. While raised in a small village in Quebec, George Sawaya decided himself at the young age of 10 yrs old, to learn the traditional Arab songs that his parents enjoyed listening to on a gramophone. Played on traditional instruments themselves (the durbakki, daf and oud) the Sawaya Chorus sings entirely about love in this compilation which includes the lyrics in both Arabic and English (see liner notes). The Sawaya Chorus performed regularly as George Sawaya "enjoyed it" and "What better way is there to learn to get along with and understand the many people in this world of ours, than through music?"
