As in her first solo album “Brothers”, released in 2021 (nominated for the Amadeus Award and the German Record Critics’ Award 2022), personal experiences also form the starting point for the compositions on cellist Sophie Abraham’s second solo album, “THE BEAUTY IN BETWEEN”. With her instrument, she explores uncharted paths along quiet and healing explosions that gently shatter musical pigeonholes and stereotypes and expand musical genres. The result is a powerful plea for the relevance of the in-between.

“THE BEAUTY IN BETWEEN” is an ode to the power of the spaces in between, the infinite facets of the androgynous and the indefinable. Sophie Abraham’s music is at once a musical, personal and socio-political statement on the beauty of diversity – beyond fronts, boundaries and exclusion.
