Have you ever been surprised by how much your decisions have been shaped by your past, and that the outcome of a
creative process has reached a much more personal and , emotional level than you ever intended?
This is how I felt after I finished composing the CHAMBER SCENES. Although it was never intended that way, each
piece reflects a moment of a regenerative process I went through for years.
The initial idea was to create a sensitive, transparent, chamber music-like aesthetic throughout the entire program
and thus, on one hand, to achieve more depth and intimacy, and on the other, to create an ideal environment for
Efrat's incredibly multifaceted and expressive voice.
The lyrics, the choice of instruments and the large spans of musical development generated the music that I was
looking for, but whose effect on me I was ultimately surprised. The CHAMBER SCENES have become my personal
„Phoenix“ programme. -Martin Streule
