A series of pieces played very well, characterized by a marked swing and with solos that transmit to the ear the joy felt by the musicians in performing them. An album of pure fun, impeccable in execution, full of dizzying and spectacular phrasing, impressive in the speed with which Winding and Piana intertwine their sounds in elaborate counterpoints.

Winding loved Duo “Bones” and proved it with facts. A few months after recording the album, the trombonist was back in the Capital for a television concert with the RAI Orchestra of Rome at Hall B. In front of the audience Winding proudly remembered having recorded that album a few months earlier. He invited Piana to get up from the ranks of the orchestra and together with him he performed an acclaimed big band arrangement of Duo “Bones”
