I vividly recall the infectious grooves of rhythm guitarists from James Brown, The Commodores, The Isley Brothers, Roger Troutman and Zapp, The S.O.S. Band, Midnight Star, and Chic. Their ability to bring songs and grooves to life truly inspired me. As I set out to create the music for Mister Smooth, I made sure to incorporate this rhythmic essence.
