Insatiably curious, French composer and guitarist Mathias Duplessy never stops diversifying his sources of inspiration and collaborating with artists from all traditions, thus abolishing the boundaries of genres, to achieve an incomparable style. In 2010, he created the “violins of the world” project, featuring today Sabir Khan (India, Sarangi), Zied Zouari (Tunisia, oriental violin), Guo Gan (China, Erhu), Madaakh Daansuren (Mongolia, Morin Khuur & voices), and Aliocha Regnard (France-Sweden, Nyckelharpa). The Violins of the World cross their bows again on a fourth album The Road with You. Within a musical road movie, these compositions tinged with pop, cinematographic, jazz or minimalist, sung or instrumental, meet and intertwine around traditional sounds and musicality, and offer a rare moment of fraternity, togetherness, and energy! The Violins of the World will be on tour in Japan for 11 shows from September 15th to October 3rd 2024 and will be on stage for a special all-stars show at La Cigale in Paris on January 29th 2025.
