Proudly, Labryénco, the flamenco band of guitarist and composer Alain Labrie, announces its new cd “Morir y nacer” (To die and be born). The third album of this flamboyant flamenco ensemble is an ode to life. In eight beautifully arranged songs, Labryénco takes you on a journey through life and death. The cd features many contributions from guest musicians. Special mention deserves master flutist Jorge Pardo. This world-renowned artist from Spain was part of Paco de Lucia’s sextet for many years and toured with legendary jazz pianist Chick Corea, among others. “To have such a celebrity playing with us is a dream come true,” said Alain Labrie. Labryénco’s flamenco music appeals just as easily to fans of classical music, world music, jazz, and even pop. The group breaks through musical boundaries and will once again attract many people to the theaters.
