      Description hide

Salvatore Pace and Alessandro Gaudio are two young diatonic accordion players from the south of Italy, a land of traditional music and dances that provide the inspiration for this new duo project. The project presented by the duo is called 'Passione Meridionale' precisely because of the 100% original music composed by the two young men under the artistic supervision of Maestro Riccardo Tesi (an internationally renowned diatonic accordionist), who coordinated all the arrangements of the project's musical compositions. Music inspired by the folk traditions of Basilicata, Campania and Calabria, but also Argentine Tango and articulated odd rhythms, giving vent to the broadest imaginations and musical colours.

The accordion, in fact, is the instrument most suited to music of this kind, being an instrument of popular extraction but, in recent years, producing young music with contaminations that create unique sounds.

The two young artists' compositions are part of research into traditional folk music and other contaminations of various musical genres. All united by the masterful elaboration of the musical dialogue between the voices of the diatonic accordions that intersect to create harmonies and melodic and rhythmic counterpoints.

Also active as a composer and organiser, Salvatore devotes himself full-time to teaching (in turn, many of his students have been awarded prizes in national and international competitions) and is a protagonist of various national and international events dedicated to the revaluation and dissemination of Diatonic Accordion culture. He constantly attends advanced training stages and masterclasses. He actively collaborates with the accordion and accordion factory Dino Baffetti and Saltarelle. He graduated in traditional music at the Tchaikowsky Conservatory in Catanzaro under the guidance of Riccardo Tesi. Together with the musician Alessandro Gaudio, he has completed an album 'Passione Meridionale' where he has an active artistic project called 'Gaudio Pace Duo' with concerts in Italy, France and Belgium. Alessandro Gaudio, a young musician, composer and concert performer from southern Italy, managed to win important titles in international accordion competitions at the age of 16 with the diatonic accordion commonly known as the accordion. Awarded various artistic titles, including the Leucosia prize and the title of world ambassador of Cilento, he has performed concerts in various countries, including Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Belarus, France, Belgium, Poland, Morocco, Tunisia, Russia, Mexico, Canada and others. He actively collaborates with the accordion and accordion factory Dino Baffetti and Saltarelle. He graduated in traditional music from the Tschaikowsky Conservatory in Catanzaro under the guidance of Riccardo Tesi. He has just completed a duo album with musician Salvatore Pace, with whom he has an artistic project under his belt.
