This five-star reviewed album shows the possibilities of melodic percussion instruments made of a wide variety of elements such as stone, wood and metal. Wolfgang Lackerschmid and the ensemble SCHLAG3 present compositions for solo and trio, exploring the wide range of classically notated and improvised parts. Wolfgang Lackerschmid, who himself studied classical percussion, is completely absorbed in his search for melodic, harmonic and rhythmic complexity in his percussion compositions. He not only knows these instruments from practice, but also creates completely new forms of sounds and expressions with his works for stone instruments, which he in turn mixes with wood and metal or supplements with pure percussion.
