Growing up in a family of musicians, Fado has always been present in Matilde Cid’s life and became her preferred musical genre.

Matilde Cid’s voice, sweet and melodic, sings this typical Lisbon’s song in a very particular way, as a result of all the influences she had gained throughout her life.

In these last 10 years, Matilde Cid’s singing has been walking a consistent path of maturity. In her short journey she already had the opportunity of sharing the stage with great Fado singers and musicians. One of her greatest challenges was featuring on the musical “Once in Fado”, in London, that received excellent reviews.

Her first album – “Puro” (“Pure”) labeled by Museu do Fado – was released last Septembre 2019. “Puro” was nominated for the “Best FADO Album” in the 2020 edition of the PLAY - Portuguese Music Awards, which took place last July at Coliseu of Lisbon. Matilde Cid was nominated side by side with Camané and Mário Laginha, Pedro Moutinho and Aldina Duarte, it was an honour! Matilde continues to dazzle us, participating in television programs, and in live streaming concerts, such as @ACasinha, last 12th of August.

Last October 1st, Matilde performed at the Festival de Fado das Canárias, in a beautiful concert that dazzled the audience at Teatro Leal, Tenerife, and later in November, took her Fado to Centro Cultural da Malaposta near Lisbon!

You can see Matilde on the television in several programs. And as the new year starts, and the world awaits for being again a safe place, so Matilde is also ready to take her joy and amazing voice and fados, for everyone to listen!
