Let the revolution happen!
Mario Pacheco, a key figure in Spanish music, died on 2010, November 26th,
leaving us a legacy of unrepeatable albums by artists such as Ketama, Pata
Negra, Martirio, Golpes Bajos and Ray Heredia.
The 70-minute documentary film from which this soundtrack is taken, reveals,
thanks to the testimonies of those who knew him and worked alongside him, the
artistic and personal side of a producer who was committed to launching new
artists.
Mario gave voice for the first time to the brilliant scene of young flamenco
artists, who thanks to him achieved the popularity and recognition that remains
nowadays.
Antonio Carmona (Ketama), Teo Cardalda (Golpes Bajos) or Joe Boyd
(discoverer of Pink Floyd and producer of REM or Eric Clapton), will tell us how
Mario became the discoverer of a talented generation that had been forged in
“tablaos” or in the streets of Seville, as well as his undeniable contribution as a
distributor, managing to license in Spain the albums of New Order or The
Smiths, among many others.
The Man Behind The Rolleiflex
Another outstanding facet of his artistic life is the photography. Mario is the
photographer behind the covers of some of the best albums ever released, from
the famous Isle of Wight snapshot of Jimmy Hendrix to the sensational 1979
cover of Camaron's "The Legend of Time".
This album is a selection of the soundtrack for the documentary "Revealing
Mario"; a sentimental portrait of the great blue-eyed traveler who lived and
dreamed behind his inseparable camera and his vinyl records
