Fifty years of the Mörbisch Lake Festival – OehmsClassics celebrates this anniversary with a specially priced box set that includes ten of the most successful Mörbisch operetta productions of the last several years. Festival manager Harald Serafin has always been the guarantor for musical quality and true operetta charm. Audiences have also had the pleasure of hearing him in one or the other vocal role as well. Another essential figure is Maestro Rudolf Bibl, honorary member of the Vienna Volksoper and internationally in demand as a conductor for all repertoire of the Strauss dynasty. The joy and commitment of the vocal ensemble is immediately palpable, especially as it involves numerous young singers and thus gains special energy and spontaneity. Year after year, the Mörbisch Lake Festival is the centre of attraction for operetta fans; with circa 200,000 visitors per season, it transforms Austria’s Burgenland into an operetta Mecca.
