Blått Rom believes in specialization and dedication, and that quality is
the basis of the greatest musical experiences.
The project ”Blått Rom”, has four of Norway’s premier blues musicians that have joined forces to revive known and
unknown material from labels like Chess, Cobra, VeeJay – who all had their sonic signatures, manufacturing ideals and
preferred studios.
Blues is folk music that breathes. Music that fills the room, yet allows the air to breath and feel the music. Listen to the classic
recordings with Lil’Son Jackson, Willie Love, Elmore James or Little Walter. Intricate ensemble playing weaved around a vocal
midpoint which is draped in dreamy soundscapes of reverb and echo. Waves turned back in small showers of repetitive sound.
"Blått Rom"
Gjems, Stølefjell, Jacobsen and Skoglund is an outstanding quartet. They believe in specialization and dedication, and that
quality is the basis of the greatest musical experiences. The quartet deliver in an absolute elite division, and was in 2015
awarded with a Norwegian Grammy nomination in the category blues. The four distinctive music profiles up against each other
as well as the sonic environment. It’s all staged with surgical precision of sound wizard and engineer Ulf Holand.
