Produced at the request of the Sri Lankan government by François Jouffa in 2002, these recordings collected in the jungle surrounding Sigiriya’s Lion Rock constitute a magnificent testimony of the Sinhalese traditional secular music. Immortalized for centuries thanks to the oral transmission, this music is played by guru master Harold Madapatha Rodrigo and his followers.
