Harmonic Tremor is Sigurdur Rögnvaldsson’s solo project for baritone guitar. The concept is inspired by the roughness and the raw power of the Icelandic nature. A harmonic tremor is a rhythmic shaking of the ground often connected to and an indicator of volcanic activity. Musically he strives to interpid the intimitation and destructive powers of nature. The threat and tension that arises when a volcany wakes up from sleep and prepeares to release it’s energy. The album is from the beginning built up as a live performance. Sigurdur uses a looper to create rhytmic layers and backgrounds and plays a synthesiser with his feet. On three of the songs he invited drummer / percussionist Tatu Rönkkö (Liima) to perform with him on a drum machine.
