Elmøe & Hoffmann (winner of Danish Music Awards Folk 2015 - Talent of the year) is a young and captivating duo on the Nordic folk-scene. Since 2015 they have gained still growing attention for their renewing take on the genre. Emma Kragh-Elmøe has been playing classical violin since her early childhood and Villads Hoffmann grew up playing loud and fast heavy metal. Together they have found common ground in the traditional Scandinavian folk music, and their different musical backgrounds add a magnificent and energetic layer to their compositions. With catchy melodies and a special musical chemistry Elmøe & Hoffmann shows strong presence and joy which shines through whenever they’re performing. In the fall of 2017 they recorded their debut album 'Vandkanten': "It is a collection of melodies and pieces we have written during the first three years we have been playing together. Every single melody is like its own little tale; they are all inspired of special places, events and people who are close to our hearts. An imprint of the past years’ impressions." The album also features the talented Julian Svejgaard Jørgensen with his brilliant and responsive piano playing, which takes Elmøe & Hoffmann to new heights.
